Single O is one of the most iconic specialty coffee brands out there - almost 20 years of sourcing, sampling, cupping, roasting and blending world-class coffee.
From 2013, the brand had kept a very consistent look. Great, right?
But as the world and the F&B industry had evolved, this consistency had turned into stagnation.
An update was much needed to bring the brand into a newer, modern, more environmental space.
The challenge was clear - how do you update a brand, move it into a new space, but without losing what’s unique. Without moving away from the founders long-term philosophy - remain discoverable.
Well, we gave it a crack!
Design
Updating the logo, moving from Single O to just a single o. Introducing cleaner, more confident brand-mark.

Moving the font-pack to a modern, bolder style, used in ways that still suits the raw Single O aesthetic.

Ensuring the unique hand-touch element remains, with more variation in how these overwrites and illustrations are used.

PACKAGING
Keeping the craft nature of the packaging, while moving into a bolder, more modern, design-led space.

Made from rapidly renewable plant materials, they're 100% home compostable, have 50% less carbon impact, will use 73% less fossil fuel and save 10 tonne of traditional plastic.

Zipperless, reducing carbon by another 12% and allowing us to produce some long-life enviro-friendly bag clips instead, with art by the skate-art legend, Brett Chan.

Partnering with Kinto out of Japan, who specialise in balancing beauty and usability, to create a branded collection of travel cups.

Working with the crew at The Common Good Co. on creating an apparel collection made 100% from recycled materials.
